This project was especially time consuming because it needed to run in various papers with different proportions. The borders and images were created using show-through with many layers. They all had to be movable in order to resize the ads for the different formats. Bob distressed the type to look like an old stamp, used some Polaroid transfer edges, and created other edges. When proofing newsprint ads, Bob uses a special curve to simulate press gain and flat inks. He also prints them on newsprint paper which gives them a very close match to the final newsprint ad.
